Fri June 03 | Morning: Visit Chengdu Giant Panda Research Base (largest panda research base in the world) Afternoon: Pre-competition training for all debate teams at 2pm, then visit Chengdu International Sister City Museum |
Sat June 04 | First Inaugural Chengdu – US Sister Cities Youth Debate Challenge Day 1 |
Sun June 05 | First Inaugural Chengdu – US Sister Cities Youth Debate Challenge Day 2 |
Mon June 06 | Morning: US students will participate in a local high school class to experience and learn about education in a Chinese classroom Afternoon: US students will attend a Chinese culture class and an activity with Chinese students along with a friendly sports match afterwards Courses: Hanfu (traditional clothing), Tea Ceremony, Tai Chi Extracurricular Activities: Ping-Pong, Jianzi (Shuttlecock), Spinning Top, Basketball, Football and other sports |
Tue June 07 | Morning: Visit Guanghan Sanxingdui museum to learn about the ancient Shu culture through different types of artifacts Afternoon: Visit Chengdu Planning Exhibition Hall to learn more about the current and future development plans of the city of Chengdu |
Wed June 08 | Students and teachers depart Chengdu and return to the US |
